I found a great shop in West Bridgford: Grace Couture. Above: a lovely summer top and two dresses for work or casual wear.
Grace Couture is run by Cassie who’s a bridal specialist and also a really amazing independent retailer. Hence the lovely clothes as well as the wedding dresses.
Abbey Road in West Bridgford is alive with people who love and believe in independent retailing: the problem is the kind of mind set in economic development that doesn’t allow diversity or anything to grow that is really different. Diversity needs gentleness, sensitivity and nurturing and diversity is good for everyone’s social, cultural and economic health. We need a queer eye to spot talent a way of seeing that allows things like markets, craft events, micro businesses to find and develop a great, safe place to grow. Life isn’t just about ‘lifestyle’, a great life is about being able to learn, work and grow throughout our lives so noone ever becomes or feels redundant in a community.
Cassie of Grace Couture has a wonderful range of really beautiful wedding samples and clothes that have been designed for pregnant mums but really are recyclable for anyone who can wear things with a bit of style…
The clothes are so reasonable: £9 each for the tops (I bought a soft strap bodice top for my mother in law and a gorgeous cardigan. Early birthday present, perfect gear for Wimbledon watching….the cardigan £15 and dresses were £15 each).
